“People know that things are wrong but they don’t know what they can do to change it… Eden needs to be a shop window of hope.”
Mission
“We are an educational charity and social enterprise. Our global mission is to create a movement that builds relationships between people and the natural world to demonstrate the power of working together for the benefit of all living things.”
The Eden Project started with the transformation of a china clay pit in Cornwall to a “living theatre of plants and people representing our dependence on plants” and “demonstrates technological ingenuity and the regeneration of landscapes and livelihoods.”
Their work and promotion as a wider company are based on the understanding that we need to live with nature and follow its movements as “what we do to the Earth we do to ourselves – let’s treasure and support a world we want to live in.”
“There is a planetary emergency. Only by deepening our collective understanding of the interconnections between all living things and seeing them as a whole can we protect the Earth and engender environmental harmony and social equity.”
